Blossom is a custom-made sculpture, crafted from gypsum plaster by hand over the course of several weeks. I aimed to capture a sense of arrested motion, a fluid, poured quality that defies the rigid nature of the material to mimic the gentle, unfolding beauty of living flora.
Blossom is designed as a large commanding wall-mounted statement piece (see below images for scale). The sheer density of hand-sculpted petals creates a rhythmic, repetitive pattern that draws the eye toward the center, inviting the viewer to contemplate the delicate complexity of nature through a monochromatic lens. The interplay of light and shadow across the plaster surface emphasizes the sculpture's dimensionality, transforming a static object into a breathing presence.
